Commander (Eng) Dimitrios Rizos was born in Larisa in 1981.
He was admitted to the Hellenic Naval Academy in 1999, from which he graduated in 2003 with the rank of Ensign (Eng) of the Hellenic Navy.
He has attended the Ships Supervision Officers School and the Navy Staff Officers Command School.
During his career, he has served on Frigates (HS ADRIAS – HS LIMNOS) and AirCushion Landing Crafts (HS ITHAKI – HS KERKYRA) of the Hellenic Navy.
He has served as Staff Officer in the Amphibious Forces Command, the Hellenic Fleet Headquarters, the Hellenic Navy General Staff and the Technical Directorate of the Salamis Naval Base.
In September 2024, he was assigned to the Hellenic Armed Forces CBRN Joint School (SEOED), where he has been serving as Commander since January 2026.
He has been honoured with all the decorations, medals and service awards stipulated for his rank.
He speaks Russian, English and French.
He is married with 4 children.
