Hellenic Armed Forces CBRN Joint School

Student’s Guide

Each Course lasts two (2) weeks.

Attendants of each course are Officers and NCOs of all Armed Forces branches, as well as Security Forces personnel.

The Training is both academic and practical. It includes subjects selected by NATO’s STANAGS and the Hellenic National Defense General Staff’s Basic Training Instructions.

The practice training is conducted in cooperation with the Hellenic Special Joint CBRN Company.

Training Facilities

The Hellenic Armed Forces CBRN Joint School has two (2) classrooms with a capacity of 35 students each, as well as:

Resident Course

  • Organization of CBRN Defense – Joint Doctrine

  • Chemical Warfare

  • Chemical and Radiological Detectors

  • Chemical agents identification

  • Toxic Industrial Chemicals Reconnaissance

  • Biological Warfare

  • Nuclear Warfare

  • Ionizing Radiation – Radiation Protection

  • Depleted Uranium

  • Meteorology – Meteorological Reports

  • Warning and Reporting System – Plotting

  • CBRN Field Identification – Survey – Marking – Sampling – Labeling

  • Operational Decontamination – DA-II Decontamination Station

  • Suspicious Envelope/ Parcel Handling – Local Alerts

  • Protective Clothing – Dressing – Undressing – B2B Decontamination Process

  • Collective protection

  • Treatment of Health Losses of combat and CBRN trauma

  • CBRN Health Loss – First aid against CBRN substances and diseases

Training Activities

  • Medical support

  • CBRN and Toxic Industrial Chemicals Reconnaissance

  • Operational Decontamination

  • Chemical Gas Release Simulation Room

  • Training gun fires with protective suit and mask

Furthermore, the Hellenic Armed Forces CBRN Joint School is conducting presentations, the purpose of which is to:

  • Coordinate with the participating services.

  • Inform about developments at the sector of CBRN Defence.

  • Line of action of a CBRN incident in a military base.
